I have good relationships with several friends. Relationships are important because people are part of my support system. As a result, these relationships are important to me. The factors that lead to good relationships are mutual respect and caring for each other. When people work together to ensure that they each other are okay, they develop ties to each other. For example, my friend Marianne works with me. We help each other at work and provide support for each other. This strengthens our relationship because we trust each other. Other important relationships for me include family and coworkers.
Family relationships are important becuase we help each other and provide emotional and financial support. I work with family members to help take care of children in the family and to achieve goals in life. Coworkers also work with me to achieve goals. Another important relationship for me is my relationship with church members. These people provide spiritual support.
Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteI read that you work with your friend Marianne, isn’t it awesome to work with your friend? When my assistant and I became friends we were not working in the same classroom, it was until some months later that we started working together, and it has been beneficial for ourselves and our students too, because we trust each other, and children see us working as a team, in a coordinated way; we also have established good relationships with families and they know they can rely on any of us because of the good communication between us.
When we establish healthy relationships at work, we reflect it in our environment, and children notice it benefiting from this.
Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteAs I read your comments on your relationships, I think it is wonderful how you highlighted the fact that your relationships are built on trust and emotional support. They are definitely the building blocks and the foundation for every healthy relationship. I was like you lucky to work with some amazing people in my career. Its true you can work so much better as a team and its nice to have a friend/coworker to talk to and understands your work. I agree with Caty it does additionally benefit the children you are working with. I enoyed reading your blog!

I fully agree with you that mutual respect is one of the keys to a successful relationship. If you do not respect someone, there is no possible way to have a positive relationship. I also have co workers who, to a certain extent, are my life savers. Working in the early childhood field is stressful but when you have someone who understands you, it makes it a little bit easier.
ReplyDeleteI agree church members are a great support system. They always seem to know just what to say or do and if they do not know themselves they can place you with a person who does know how to assist you. Respect is very important in a relationship I believe it helps to maintain balance.
